Greetings,

It is my distinct honor and pleasure to welcome you to the El Paso–Las Cruces (TX–NM) Alumni Chapter (SW) of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

For more than six decades, our chapter has proudly represented Kappa Alpha Psi across the Borderland. As our name reflects, our Brotherhood spans two states.   It serves the greater communities of El Paso, Texas, and Las Cruces, New Mexico—two cities united by a shared region, a rich history, and an enduring commitment to service and Achievement.

The El Paso–Las Cruces Alumni Chapter was founded on October 13, 1962, by 21 visionary Brothers who came to this region through military service, government Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programs, and other professional and personal pursuits. Though their paths to the Borderland were different, they were united by the Bond of Kappa Alpha Psi and a shared vision of establishing a lasting presence of Brotherhood, Leadership, Service, and Achievement in the American Southwest.

From our first Polemarch, Brother James B. Crumady, to the present day, generations of Brothers have carried that vision forward. We continue striving to be a beacon of Achievement within the “Mighty” Southwestern Province while honoring the legacy established by the 21 Brothers who laid our chapter’s foundation.

Proudly known as “The Sun City NUPEs,” we embrace an identity that is uniquely our own. The Borderland is more than where we live—it is where we serve, lead, mentor, fellowship, and make an impact. Our chapter reflects the strength and diversity of a region where cultures, communities, professions, generations, and experiences come together.

Our commitment extends far beyond the walls of our chapter meetings. Through community service, mentorship, leadership development, social action, educational initiatives, and fraternal fellowship, we seek to embody the ideals of Kappa Alpha Psi and leave a meaningful legacy for those who will follow us.

Whether you are a visiting Brother, a Brother relocating to the Borderland, a member of our community, or simply seeking to learn more about the Sun City NUPEs, we welcome you. We invite you to experience our Brotherhood, participate in our service, enjoy our fellowship, and witness firsthand the spirit of Achievement that has defined this chapter since 1962.
